Icarus' Feather [from the quarantine cabin]
I have been musing on falling and the hubris that usually goes before. I hope each of you is weathering the storm, literal or seasonal as your geography dictates.
I'm grateful to some fabulous friends at Falcon Trails Resort who have hosted me in such a stylish space to innovate and isolate (consider a trip yourself when it’s safe again, the inspiration being complimentary here).
I took two compatible chords and filmed this yesterday as the first sonorous spring rain rolled in, only too morph right back into a blizzard the next day.
Nature herself seems uncertain right now.
Thanks to @Saltwater.hearts, the loveliest camera phone operator/editor/fire builder/quaran-teammate ever.
Icarus’ Feather
Words and music by jonny moonbeam
Icarus’ feather floating on the breeze
Wafting through the window gentle as you please
A quill to craft the letter I'm hoping you will read
I haven’t left the pride now to hide this strange disease
I flew a little too high and the brightness overwhelmed me
I guess I knew you might come back around to tell me
You told me so
Seal it with some wax now splattered like the rain
Peel it from the window so pretty on the pane
Playing with the prisms framing all the beams
Shaping all the shadows catching all the dreams
