Daniel Jordan (aka jonny moonbeam) has been a staple in Canada’s music scene for over 15 years.  As founder, principal songwriter, producer, and performer in Red Moon Road (RMR), he has toured in 7 countries, including every province in Canada several times.  RMR’s release, ‘Sorrows and Glories’ made the Polaris long list and spent 7 weeks as number one on Earshot! folk/roots/blues radio national charts.

Daniel is also bandleader and bass player for Winnipeg Motown sensation Retro Rhythm Review, singer in tribute band PIE: The Music of Cake, and a guitar player, drummer, and bassist for hire.  He has scored numerous commercials and productions including MTYP’s production of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” and the award-winning Theatre Project Manitoba’s “This Land Floods” Chautauqua tour.  He has written and produced songs for other bands and projects and often conducts in-person and online songwriting sessions.  Daniel completed his degree in the Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba and has taught songwriting privately, as part of Manitoba’s Safe-At-Home initiative, and at the Royal Manitoba Conservatory.

Under his solo moniker “jonny moonbeam,” he toured as the opening act (and drummer) for Winnipeg trio Sweet Alibi’s Western Tour in October 2019.  More recently, he hosted and organized the Winnipeg Folk Festival’s “So Long Bannatyne Workshop” (featuring more than 25 MB artists), headlined the Calgary Folks Clubs’ 50th anniversary season, and more.  He has begun a shift to more online collaborations, as well as more production work under “Moonbeam Productions.” He engineered Red Moon Road’s latest release, a 7-song EP called “Simple Kind of Christmas” which sold hundreds of copies during lockdown restrictions and garnered thousands of online streams.
